Jewish Family Services

Jewish Family Services (JFS) is the division of the Jewish Federation of Raleigh-Cary that identifies, reaches out to and supports individuals and families in the community who are in need.  We learn of these individuals and families when they contact us directly or are referred from congregational sources, social services agencies or members of the community. Our staff conducts an initial assessment of each referral and determines what interventions, if any, are appropriate. Services are provided by JFS staff and/or community agencies and practitioners. To help identify unmet educational needs in health-related and other program areas, we also perform community outreach and data collection.  To make a referral or inquire about any of our services, contact info@shalomraleigh.org.

Senior Outreach

Caring for the elderly is a big issue that will only grow as the nation’s elderly population increases.  JFS Senior Outreach focuses on providing for our seniors and their families. 

 

B'Yachad

The B'Yachad Volunteer Program operates in the belief that, together, we can make a difference.  A sub-division of Jewish Family Services, B'yachad offers many volunteer opportunities through community outreach. 

Recent Events from JFS!

Community Supports Newcomers

JFS has reached out to both Jewish and non-Jewish members of the Triangle community on behalf of the Lotsmanovs, a family of Russian immigrants who tragically lost a member shortly after relocating to the area.  We've received a tremendous outpouring of support and will post more information when we have received a final tally of funds.  Thank you all for your immense generosity.

Care Management Program Expands

Care management has become an integral part of Jewish Family Services’ senior program. All communications with seniors and/or their adult children are evaluated for the value of enrolling those seniors in a care management program.
