Whether you send a check or use your credit card, your gift is tax-deductible to the extent provided by law.  If mailing a cash or check payment, please send it to the Federation Office on Creedmoor Rd.  Credit card payments may be made over the phone or online by selecting one of the following:

Please contact Jody Weisberg with any questions regarding payments: jody.weisberg@shalomraleigh.org.

If you hold long-term appreciated securities and have experienced a run-up during the stock market rally, you may wish to consider gifting shares to the Federation.  This is a tax-savvy option preferable to paying in cash. You will receive a charitable deduction for the fair market value of your donation and avoid any capital gains tax which is likely to be increased in the future. Simply contact Sherrie Auriene, Director of Finance, at 676-2200 x121, or sherrie.auriene@shalomraleigh.org for assistance.

Beginning at age 70 ½, all IRA owners are required to take annual minimum distributions even if they don’t need the income.  The charitable rollover allowance at age 70 ½ allows you to make a direct tax-free transfer to Federation. It is especially helpful for seniors who have accumulated more IRA assets than they need in a given year. The transfer is tax-free and there is no charitable deduction. This option also appeals to older adults who do not itemize their tax deductions and would not otherwise receive any tax benefit for their charitable contributions. If you have questions, please consult your financial or tax advisor or contact the Federation.

If you prefer to pay over the course of a year, the Federation can bill your bank account on a monthly-basis.  Simply provide the Director of Finance with a voided check and split your donation into twelve segments.  Please be sure to alert the Federation of any changes or closings to your account's information.

Less fortunate community members are always in need of certain goods.  Please contact Jewish Family Serivces via herb.segal@shalomraleigh.org to donate your gently used clothing, furniture, toys or appliances.  If you have something to donate but aren't sure if it's in demand, please check with JFS.  The Federation will provide you with a receipt for the tax-deductible value of your donation.

A tribute is a gift made in memory of someone or something.  It's a great way to honor a friend, loved one, anniversary or holiday while giving back to the Jewish community.  A tribute or memorial may also be used to express condolences or well-wishes; simply include a note in with your donation, and the Federation will send a card to the honoree.
