DAVID R. KAHN JEWISH COMMUNITY CAMPUS
We're building a vibrant campus for a growing Jewish community. Our newly renovated Campus reflects the growing richness of Jewish life in the Greater Raleigh area.
These are exciting times for the David R. Kahn Jewish Community Campus as we embark on a new chapter that will strengthen our community for generations to come. Visionaries of a Jewish Community Campus first purchased land for our campus over 25 years ago, at the corner of Norwood and Old Creedmoor Roads. Thanks to the thoughtful contributions of these families and other funding, we are now moving forward to create new and refreshed open spaces and facilities to serve our many programs for our entire Jewish community.
If you haven’t seen the Campus in a while, you haven’t seen the Campus at all! Our newly renovated Kahn Campus reflects the growing richness of Jewish life in the Raleigh-Cary area. The Campus is filled with opportunity. Plans include the creation a deluxe Sports Court, the Israel Center, pristine office space, meetings rooms, and convening spaces for large and small events, lectures, movies, and conference meetings.
We already have state of the art tree climbing, rocking soccer fields, a thriving JCC, and unique specialty summer camps. The curbing is complete. Asphalt is being laid to finish the roads and parking lots. The future competition-quality athletic fields and surrounding areas now have a coat of four acres of topsoil.
Construction crews have completed laying 2,000 feet of storm pipes and 400 feet of utility pipes—about 8 football fields of underground pipes. We now have a high-tech, environmentally-friendly system that delivers water from the Campus pond to the athletic fields. The entire irrigation system is powered from a new electrical system based in the old well house.
We're also looking forward to planting a sustainable Pearl Garden, and constructing PJ Library little free libraries and installing a bevvy of sitting benches to relax in overlooking the water. For each piece that is constructed, there are meaningful building and naming opportunities.
You won’t believe your eyes, so come and visit us—we have monthly tours. The Kahn Campus is creating the environment of a Jewish neighborhood where Jews of all ages, affiliations, and beliefs can enhance the quality of their lives through educational, recreational and social experiences.
