The Jewish Federation includes our integrated agencies: Jewish Family Services, Jewish Community Center, Jewish Community Relations Council, and the Jewish Community Foundation, and a host of program and services to engage and care for the community.

Position Description

IThe JCC at the David R Kahn Community Campus is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our organization as a full-time Campus Facilities Assistant.  As part of our facilities team, you will be an integral part of helping us to meaningfully connect, care for and strengthen our community.   In this position you will be performing a variety of tasks related to the operation and maintenance of the Campus ‘s buildings, facilities and grounds as well as being a friendly face able to assist our members, renters and guests. This can be a physically demanding position at times. You must enjoy working outdoors, be able to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift items up to 50 lbs. throughout a standard shift. Our ideal candidate has a strong work ethic and experience with facilities maintenance, is self-motivated with excellent time management skills with the ability to shift priorities as necessary, is competent using both hand and power tools, and is friendly with strong verbal communication skills.

Work Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday

Core Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Attend to the grounds and facilities, maintaining a safe, clean, and well-kept campus appearance

  • Open and/or Close access to Campus as needed

  • Ensure Opening procedures are maintained daily

  • Monitor and help direct traffic and parking lot flow as needed

  • Ensure appropriate directional signage is displayed

  • Monitor and maintain restrooms and public area trash receptacles

  • Assist Camp and Program Leaders, JCC Members, renters and visitors as needed

  • Identify maintenance issues and work as part of a team to implement strategies to resolve problems and promote an optimal work environment

  • Landscape/grounds maintenance

  • Painting

  • Trail maintenance

  • Other tasks as needed

Experience & Qualifications

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors

  • Exhibits good judgment, self-confidence, cool headedness, and common sense

  • Must demonstrate competency using and maintaining hand tools and power tools

  • Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and reliable transportation

  • Background check required

Salary:  $18 per hour as well as generous benefits package
