Congregation Sha'arei Israel Presents: Timothy Boyce - From Day to Day

Timothy Boyce is a retired lawyer whose passion for history opened another door which introduced him to a slice of WWII history which would have remained unknown if not for a chance discovery.

He accidentally discovered, in a second hand book shop, an English translation of a diary secretly kept for several years in a concentration camp. The writer of the diary was Odd Nansen, the son of the most famous Norwegian family. He was imprisoned as retaliation by the Germans for the Norwegians sinking of a German  boat.

Timothy Boyce has published the translation with copious historical notes about the daily events of the war parallel to a diary entry. He will be speaking about Odd Nansen and this most incredible story on June 22nd at 8:00 PM. The Zoom talk is sponsored by The Jewish Life Center of Raleigh NC. The cost is 36$.

The diary is fascinating, helped Nansen survive and tells his story of encountering a young child in the infirmary and his selfless actions which saved the child and probably himself.
