NCMA presents: I <3 Purim

This year, we celebrate Rembrandt and a Queen with an immersive evening of the Megillah, masterpieces, and mischief. For the first time, the annual I ♥ Purim party takes place in East Building—the original home of the Judaic Art Gallery established in 1984. The party commemorates a monumental collaboration between the North Carolina Museum of Art and the Jewish Museum, New York

Join us for a night where art, identity, and heroism take center stage, inspired by the extraordinary exhibition The Book of Esther in the Age of Rembrandt. This landmark presentation brings together paintings, prints, and objects that illuminate how 17th-century Dutch artists interpreted the powerful story of Esther—a narrative of courage, hidden identity, and deliverance that resonates across centuries.

*Space is limited; advance tickets are required. Per IRS advisory, no portion of the admission is tax deductible unless otherwise noted. All proceeds benefit the Judaic Art Fund.

Channel your inner muse—your costume is your canvas. Come dressed in creative attire inspired by the world of art and the story of Esther.
