Jewish Federation of Greater Raleigh Hires Seth Malin as New CEO
To the Greater Raleigh Jewish Community,
As President of the Board of Trustees, I’m excited to share important news as we build toward our future – the selection of Seth Malin as the Jewish Federation of Greater Raleigh’s new CEO.
With the expert partnership of Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA), our Jewish Federation launched a national search for our next executive leader. We met with many exceptional candidates—each one bringing passion, experience, and vision. I’m deeply grateful to our dedicated search committee and local Jewish community leadership, and to the team at JFNA for their professionalism and guidance throughout this process.
I’m proud to announce that Seth has accepted the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Jewish Federation of Greater Raleigh. Seth will officially join us in late-June, after relocating from Houston.
Seth brings more than 25 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, including a strong and inspiring history in the Jewish community. His previous roles include Assistant Vice President at the Jewish Federation of Broward County, Director of Development at Seven Acres Jewish Senior Care Services, and Director of the JCC Maccabi Games at the Jewish Community Center of Houston.
Most recently, he served as Executive Director of Educational Programs Inspiring Communities, where he led a team of more than 50 staff and managed a multi-million dollar annual budget while stewarding significant capital investments and major donor relationships.
Seth is a Certified Nonprofit Executive (CNE), Certified Development Executive (CDE), and Certified Nonprofit Consultant (CNC). Beyond his credentials, he is known for his hands-on leadership, his deep commitment to mission-driven work, and his ability to build strong relationships within and beyond the Jewish community.
And when he’s not building communities, you might find him on the soccer field—Seth is also a U.S. Soccer Federation referee.
I also want to take a moment to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Robin Talley, who graciously stepped in as Interim CEO during this transition. With Seth joining us, Robin will resume her role on the Board of Trustees—we are so thankful for her leadership and continued service.
We’re thrilled to welcome Seth to Greater Raleigh and look forward to the energy, integrity, and vision he’ll bring to our Federation family.
Shabbat Shalom,
Craig Meddin
President, Board of Trustees
