POMEGRANATES
Who We Are
The Pomegranate Society is for women who want to make a difference in our community, Israel, and Jewish communities worldwide, and who want to feel connected through networking, volunteering, events, education, and philanthropy.
Pomegranates are women who nurture, sustain, and plant the seeds for the next generation of Jewish leaders. Federation’s Pomegranates are critical to the future of our community. Pomegranates are a group of inspiring women who, just like you, want to practice Tikkum Olam in a meaningful way.
Our Pomegranates join in sisterhood with our young women in the Pearl Society and our Lions of Judah. Women giving $1,800-$4,999 are invited to join the Pomegranate Society and be recognized for their generous support of our community.
We focus on community service and deepening the connection of young women to their Jewish identity and the legacy of Tzedakah.
Did You Know?
The pomegranate is one of the seven fruits named in the Bible and is said to contain 613 seeds, one for each of the mitzvot or commandments found in the Torah.
The ancient symbol was carved in the entryways of the earliest synagogues, woven into fabrics, and hammered into silver and gold. The intricate covers for the handles of the Torah scrolls are called “rimonim” or pomegranates.
