JCC Workout For New Moms & Moms-To-Be

New Moms: Are you a new mom grappling with trying to get back to your pre-pregnancy fitness level or get to a new fitness level? Regardless of where you are, this workout will cater to all fitness levels and moms. Whether you had a natural delivery, a C-section, or additional complications, you will learn proper techniques and tips to help you get to your optimal fitness level. 

Being a mom definitely changes our bodies.  Many moms experience diastasis to some degree.  By learning the correct exercises early on you can regain your fitness level much faster. If you have a yoga mat and/or resistance band please bring them. ~ Optional: bring your 5-6 weeks - 3 years old ~

Moms to be: You will learn the best ways to care for your changing body and develop a routine that you can do on your own, in whichever place you love to workout. Regardless of your fitness level, you will leave this class with the tools, exercises, knowledge and confidence needed to ensure a safe and fit pregnancy as well as postpartum recovery. The class will blend fitness, strength training and yoga. You will learn how to effectively engage and activate your Pelvic-Core muscles during all movement, maximizing a fit pregnancy and safe and effective recovery. You will also learn breathing techniques to help with pregnancy, labor and recovery while connecting with your baby (inside or outside your tummy!).

Students are required to have medical clearance from their caregiver before registering for fitness classes at the JCC.

About the instructor: Karen Jashinsky is a certified personal trainer, with over 15 years experience, trained in prenatal yoga, postpartum fitness recovery, repairing diastasis recti, and much more!  She is the Co-Founder of Student Fitness Experts, a youth fitness company that creates dynamic lifestyle fitness programs for students. Karen is also a master trainer certified by the National Federation for Fitness Certification (NAFC).
