A New View on Aging: A Closer Look at the Myths and Realities of Aging

  • Beth Shalom 5713 Yates Mill Pond Road Raleigh, NC, 27606 United States (map)

Program Description: We are excited to kick off a new program series in Western Wake County.  On the first Tuesday of most months, we will come together for a tasty kosher-style lunch followed by a speaker.

Join us for a lively discussion about how negative cultural stereotypes about aging influence how we think and feel about getting older. The impact of negative thinking often affects us emotionally and inhibits our true potential. There are certain realities about growing older we cannot change. However, there is much we can do to redefine what it means to be older and live productively. Join Abby Palmer MSW, JFS Senior Services Social Worker to explore how ageism affects us as we grow old. We will focus on the benefits of redefining aging, being proactive and thinking positively.
