Program Description: “Jewish Heritage Travel: What to Know Before You Go” with Judy Julian

Have you ever dreamed of walking the streets your ancestors once knew, exploring historic Jewish communities, or deepening your connection to Jewish history through travel? Join travel expert Judy Julian for an engaging conversation about Jewish heritage travel and the many meaningful ways it can enrich your journey.

Whether you're considering a family roots trip, a Jewish history tour, an Israel experience, or incorporating heritage exploration into a broader vacation, you'll learn about the different types of journeys available, how to get started, and important considerations for planning a rewarding and memorable experience. Discover how travel can bring history, culture, family stories, and personal connection to life in powerful and unexpected ways.

Come be inspired to explore the places, traditions, and stories that have helped shape Jewish life across generations.

Judy Julian is the owner of Travel Designs by Judy, where she helps clients create meaningful travel experiences that bring people closer to one another, their heritage, and the world around them. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from NC State University and a Master's in Social Work from UNC-Chapel Hill.

Before launching her travel business in 2008, Judy spent 31 years serving North Carolina's youth through the Juvenile Justice System. She helped develop innovative programs for at-risk youth, including a nationally and internationally recognized treatment program for incarcerated girls struggling with substance abuse. One of the greatest honors of her career was having a learning center for at-risk girls in Greensboro named in her honor.

Today, Judy combines her passion for people, culture, and connection to craft unforgettable journeys. While she began by planning honeymoons, destination weddings, and Caribbean vacations, her focus has evolved to include European travel, multigenerational family trips, and heritage-based journeys that help travelers explore their ancestry and family roots. This passion is deeply personal, as Judy enjoys using her own travels to learn more about Jewish history and her family's story.
