Western Wake Speaker Lunch: "Exploring Container Gardening"

Program Description: Have you considered container gardening?  Rachel will review the many elements of successful container gardening from the selection of the pot and plants to meet a desired design, to soil and watering needs, to locating and maintaining your completed project.

Speaker: Rachel Strauss is a Wake County Extension Master Gardener volunteer. You may have spoken with Rachel at the Master Gardener information booths at local Home and Garden Shows and at the NC State Fair. Her memberships include the Raleigh Garden Club, Wake Gardeners of NC, and the Chrysanthemum Society. Rachel is an active volunteer at the JC Raulston Arboretum, various City of Raleigh Gardens/Parks, and she assists in the maintenance of the Biblical Garden at Beth Meyer Synagogue. As a Park Guide at the NC Museum of Art, Rachel leads tours of the Museum Park.

Rachel was born and raised in Greensboro, NC and has lived and gardened in Raleigh for the past 40 years. Since retiring, Rachel has pursued a deep interest in volunteering in areas in addition to gardening to help others live better, healthier and kinder lives.
